Launching Cypress & Pine

Wow. Our new website is live! The past few weeks have been a rollercoaster for us (and for the entire world, honestly.)

Brianne and I have been working for a growing digital agency for the past few years, but remotely, from afar, in separate locations - Brianne in Rogers, AR, while I was based in Los Angeles, CA.

When the world began to shift, my family and I decided to leave Los Angeles so that we could be closer to the kids’ grandparents (a.k.a. beg them for help with our two kids so we could try to continue to work) and feel a little more safe in Arkansas. We weren’t sure what would unfold, but we were lucky enough to be able to rent the house right next door to Justin and Brianne, on the block between Cypress & Pine Streets in Downtown Rogers, AR.

I drove the 22-hours with our two kids in tow, quarantined in an AirBnB in Bentonville for a while once we arrived, and then settled in next door. We’ve been here, on our little family filled block, for just about 2 months.

While it’s taken some adjustment working full-time and having kids home (also full-time - how are other parents out there holding up?!), the most amazing part of being here in Arkansas has been the ability to see Brianne daily and talk about the next chapter of our professional lives. PS: Shoutout to Brianne for inviting my rowdy kids over several times a week to play and work on crafts she made for them so I could sneak calls in with clients and try to pretend like everything is fine and calm here next door.

After realizing things would be changing for us personally and professionally, we began talking about how many great businesses in the area might also be in new situations where they need to rely more on digital marketing and wondered if these businesses might need our help.

With lots of whipped coffee (and wine, if I’m being honest) in hand and three (not quiet AT ALL) kids playing in the background, Cypress & Pine started to take shape little-by-little each day. We talked about the services we wanted to offer, what we could do to serve the local community here (and beyond) and what we wanted (and didn’t want) from this new journey. We registered our LLC, got a few financial things in order, designed a logo together, chose a color palette, designed some new business cards, created this website and set up our social media accounts.

This is really happening - I’m grateful we’ve been given this bit of breathing room and “downtime” here on our block to have the time to get everything setup.

To be transparent, we are excited, and also a little nervous, but we know we have the experience and skill to help so many business owners. We’re happy to finally launch our website, and we look forward to seeing how things take shape over the next few months and years.

Thanks for welcoming our new business to the community, especially during this uncertain time.
